Government Issues Urgent Alert for Android Users: Here's What You Need to Know

The government has issued a warning for Android smartphone users. According to the government organization CERT, many flaws have been found in Android smartphones, which can cause cyber attacks. These flaws can lead to data theft. Arbitrary codes can be inserted in the phone and even the phone can be controlled by hackers.

If you use an Android smartphone, then you should come into alert mode, because the government has issued a warning for Android smartphone users. The government organization Computer Emergency Response Team i.e. CERT said that many types of flaws have been found in Android smartphones, which can lead to cyber attacks on the user's mobile phone. Along with stealing the user's data, arbitrary codes can be inserted in the phone and hackers can take control of the phone. This is one of the serious problems related to the security of mobile users. According to the report, by assessing these vulnerabilities, the basis of cyber attacks can be reduced.

    Android users must pay attention

CERT i.e. Computer Emergency Response Team, which is a government number, has advised Android 12, Android 13, Android 14 and Android 15 users to update their devices immediately so that any kind of cyber attack can be avoided.

    • Ways to avoid cyber attacks

    • Check updates for your device regularly and activate automatic updates.

    • Updates often contain security improvements that help protect against new cyber threats.

    • Avoid clicking on any unknown link or downloading apps from unknown sources.

    • Always download apps from the Google Play Store or the official app store only.

    • Set strong and unique passwords for Apple ID or other accounts.

    • Activate 2FA (two-factor authentication) for added security.

    • Make sure that installed apps have access only to necessary data.

    • Review app permissions from time to time.

If any unknown email, message, or pop-up asks for sensitive information, verify it first.

Note - This alert is for Android users. Meaning if your TV, mobile, and other electronic devices are based on Android, then that device should be updated with immediate effect.
