    GT vs DC IPL 2025: Jos Buttler’s Blazing Knock Crushes Delhi, Gujarat Titans Win by 8 Wickets

    Ahmedabad: Gujarat Titans, captained by Shubhman Gill, defeated Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday. This was GT's fifth win this season. With this, Gujarat now has 10 points. On the other hand, this was Delhi Capitals' second defeat in the seventh match. Gujarat Titans chased the big target of 204 runs in 19.2 overs with 7 wickets to spare. Delhi Capitals have failed to defend a target of more than 200 runs for the first time in IPL history. On the other hand, Gujarat has chased a target of more than 200 runs for the first time in IPL.


    Delhi Capitals' innings was something like this


    With the brilliant innings of Karun Nair (31), KL Rahul (28), captain Axar Patel (39), Tristan Stubbs (31) and Ashutosh Sharma (37), Delhi Capitals had put up a strong score of 203 runs for eight wickets against Gujarat Titans. Gujarat won the toss and decided to bowl first in the hot weather. No big innings was played from Delhi's side but its top order batsmen made useful contributions. Captain Axar Patel played the highest innings of 39 runs hitting one four and two sixes in 31 balls.


    Ashutosh Sharma hit two fours and three sixes in 37 runs in just 19 balls before getting caught out on the fifth ball of the last over of the innings. Nair hit two fours and two sixes in 31 runs in 18 balls. Stubbs hit two fours and a six in 31 runs in 21 balls. Rahul hit four fours and a six in 28 runs off 14 balls. Abhishek Porel hit three fours and a six in 18 runs off nine balls.


    With a six, Rahul became the fastest Indian to complete 200 sixes in IPL history. Rahul achieved this feat in the 128th innings. Left arm spinner Sai Kishore kept Ashutosh tied in the last over and did not let him score many runs. Along with this, Prasidh Krishna also bowled brilliantly and took four wickets. On the other hand, Siraj, after giving away a lot of runs in his first two overs, took one wicket by giving away just 14 runs in two overs of his second spell. Along with this, Ishant Sharma also got a wicket.
