India Women Win Asia Cup, Refuse Trophy From Mohsin Naqvi; Military Veterans React

New Delhi: They say, "Are our girls any less than boys?" The Indian women's cricket team has once again performed a feat that is being discussed not only in the country but around the world. Team India, led by Harmanpreet, has registered a resounding victory in the Asia Cup 2026. Furthermore, after capturing the trophy, the Indian team utterly insulted Pakistani government minister and ACC President Mohsin Naqvi on the field. Team India refused to accept the Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, a native of Pakistan, the hotbed of terrorism. Now, once again, Naqvi has left with the Asia Cup trophy after being severely insulted. Former Indian military officers have launched a scathing attack on the Pakistani minister's actions. While Lieutenant General (Retired) DP Pandey congratulated the Indian women's cricket team on their victory, he also called Pakistani Minister Mohsin Naqvi a "trophy thief." He also praised Smriti Mandhana.

Retired Lieutenant General DP Pandey called Naqvi a "trophy thief." Lieutenant General (Retired) Devendra Pratap Pandey wrote in a post on Instagram, "Great respect to Indian women. The way the Indian women's cricket team players did not accept the trophy from a "trophy thief" and a complete liar. Smriti Mandhana won hearts both on the field and on the stage."

Former Major General Harsh Kakkar said, "What a huge insult to Naqvi."

Major General (Retired) Harsh Kakkar also congratulated the Indian women's team on winning the Asia Cup. He also took aim at ACC President Mohsin Naqvi. He reprimanded the Pakistani minister for taking the trophy with him instead of handing it over to the Indian team.

His own credibility has been tarnished after the Indian players refused to accept the trophy from him. What a huge insult."

Harmanpreet Brigade Makes History

In the Women's Asia Cup 2026 final played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, the Indian team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, defeated defending champions Sri Lanka by 72 runs to win the Women's Asia Cup title for a record eighth time. The champion team's performance was excellent in every aspect. The bowlers and batsmen combined to win the title for the country. Chasing a target of 184, the Sri Lankan team was all out for 111, allowing India to lift the trophy and become Asian champions once again.

Not only did they win the Asia Cup trophy, they also won hearts.

Following half-centuries from Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma and their record-breaking 129-run opening partnership, the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly. Shree Charani took four wickets, and Deepti Sharma took three. Kranti Gaur, Shefali, and Prema Rawat also took one wicket each. After winning the Women's Asia Cup 2026, the Indian team did not receive the trophy from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi.
