iPhone Users in 150 Countries Targeted by ‘Mercenary Spyware’—Apple Issues Global Warning

Apple has warned iPhone users of 150 countries about 'Mercenary spyware attack', which is more dangerous than normal cyber attacks. The company says that the attackers are targeting some specific people and they have sufficient resources. The special thing is that only Apple can detect such attacks.

Tech giant Apple has warned iPhone users of 150 countries about a big threat. This threat is of 'Mercenary spyware attack'. The company says that these attacks are more dangerous than normal cyber attacks. Cyber criminals are trying to target some people and their iPhones. Apple is concerned about its users and wants to protect them from this threat. The company also says that whoever is behind these attacks, they have a lot of money and resources, due to which this attack is bigger and more serious than normal cyber attack.

The method of attack keeps changing, identification is difficult

According to reports, the method of Mercenary spyware attack keeps changing with time, so it cannot be said clearly what will be the style and pattern of the attack. Apple detects such attacks through its investigation. It is said that such attacks are carried out by spending a lot of money and very few people are targeted. This is the reason why it is difficult to stop Mercenary attack. The good thing is that only a few people are targeted, due to which a large number of Apple users are not affected by it. Despite this, the company has issued a warning on a large scale.

How will you know that you have been attacked?

According to the report, in case of Mercenary attack, Apple sends notification to its user in the email address and iMessage associated with the Apple account. Apart from this, an alert is also received on signing in on account.apple.com. The company stays connected with the people who get the threat alert through its website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so that the situation can be resolved.

You should keep these things in mind

If you are an iPhone user, then you should always keep some things in mind. Apple says that users should always keep their device updated with the latest software. A strong password should be set on the device. Apart from this, two factor authentication should also be kept on. If a message seems suspicious or an attachment is doubtful, then it should not be opened. However, the company has not mentioned any specific iPhone model. It seems that this alert is for all iPhone users.
