IPL 2025: Will Remaining Matches Be Played? BCCI Secretary Responds Amid War Tension

New Delhi. In the Indian Premier League 2025, the match being played between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in Dharamsala on Thursday was canceled. It was decided to stop the match due to technical fault. Due to the ongoing tense atmosphere between India and Pakistan, fans are worried about whether the remaining matches of the tournament will be held further or not. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has given information about this matter.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devjit Saikia talked about the cancellation of the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals to be played on May 8. According to India Today's report, he said, 'We have decided to cancel the match between Delhi and Punjab keeping everything in mind. Neighboring country Pakistan is trying to worsen the situation. For us, the safety of Indian and foreign players, spectators and support staff who have come to watch the match is a priority. We will do everything that will be in the interest of the country. We are keeping an eye on this entire situation and any decision will be taken accordingly.

At the same time, according to the IANS report, the BCCI secretary said, "There is no emergency meeting. We are at different places and the only concern was the Dharamsala match, which we have decided to cancel. Avoid spreading rumors." IPL chairman Arun Dhumal told PTI, "We are reviewing the situation at the moment. The situation in front of us is constantly changing. We have not been issued any kind of instruction by the government. Obviously, any decision will be taken keeping all things in mind. The match that is to be held on Friday is currently being played as per the schedule.
