IRCTC Cracks Down on Fake Accounts: Link Aadhaar Now or Lose Booking Access

If you book tickets through IRCTC, then there is big news for you. IRCTC has recently closed 2 crore accounts using AI. If you do not want your account to be closed, then immediately link your Aadhaar card with IRCTC account. If you do not do this, you will neither be able to book tickets and your IRCTC account may also be closed. If you do not know how to link Aadhaar card with IRCTC account, then we will tell you step by step.

    Whose accounts were closed

IRCTC has taken this action to help those who book Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets. Railways have caught those accounts which book tickets online using bots or automated tools. Railways has created a special AI tool for this work, with the help of which 2.4 crore accounts have been closed in the last 6 months. Let us tell you that IRCTC has decided that all the accounts which are not Aadhaar verified should be thoroughly investigated. If any kind of deficiency is found, these accounts will be closed forever. Out of 13 crore accounts of IRCTC, only 1.2 crore accounts are Aadhaar verified.

Aadhaar is necessary for Tatkal ticket

Recently, the Railways has made Aadhaar authentication mandatory while booking Tatkal tickets. At the same time, people whose Aadhaar cards are linked with their IRCTC account will also get 10 minutes more time while booking Tatkal tickets. During this time, even authorized agents will not be allowed to book tickets. This has made Aadhaar verification even more important for regular passengers.
