Jos Buttler Heartbroken After ODI Series Loss, Takes a Dig at His Own Team – Who Did He Blame?

India vs England ODI Series: England had to face defeat by 142 runs in the third match of the 3 ODI series against India. After losing the series 3-0, England captain Jos Buttler admitted that his team was completely defeated by India in the ODI series. The English team failed on the India tour. Before the ODI series, they had to face defeat by 1-4 in the 5 T20 match series.

    What did Jos Buttler say?

The team will have to change its approach before the 2025 Champions Trophy starts in Pakistan on February 19. Butler said after the match, "We were outplayed by a great team throughout the tour. Our attitude is right, but we have not performed well. They put a great score on the board. Shubman played a brilliant innings. We started well again, but it is a familiar story for us. We need to find a way to bat for a long time. We were up against a really good team that keeps challenging us.''

First match against England in the Champions Trophy

England's batting unit struggled throughout the series. Opener Ben Duckett and veteran Joe Root were the batsmen who scored a total of 100 runs in all three matches. The team's middle order faltered against spin on several occasions. This has raised the team's concerns ahead of the Champions Trophy. England is in Group B of the Champions Trophy. It will face Australia in Lahore on February 22. After this, the team will face Afghanistan on February 28 and South Africa on March 1.

    What happened in the match?

England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bowl first. Team India scored 356 runs in 50 overs. For them, Shubman Gill scored 112 runs in 102 balls. Chasing India's huge target of 357 runs, England's team collapsed for 214 runs in 34.2 overs. For Team India, Akshar Patel took two wickets for 22 runs, Harshit Rana took two wickets for 31 runs, Arshdeep Singh took two wickets for 33 runs, and Hardik Pandya took two wickets for 38 runs.
