KL Rahul Slams Classic Century at Headingley, Puts India in Command vs England

Leeds: On the fourth day of the Headingley Test match, Team India's opener batsman KL Rahul did wonders by scoring a century. This is Rahul's 9th century in Test cricket. Rahul completed his 9th century in 202 balls. In his century innings, he hit 13 fours. Due to this century innings of KL Rahul, Team India's lead crossed 200 runs. KL Rahul also gave a good start to the team in the first innings for India. Although, he could score only 42 runs in the first innings, but in the second innings he did not miss and scored a century.


In the first innings, the Indian team was able to score 471 runs due to the strong batting of KL Rahul. Rahul shared a 91-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first wicket. After this solid start, Yashasvi took advantage of it and created history by scoring a century in his first Test on England soil.


Shubman and Rishabh Pant also scored centuries


Not only Yashasvi, but Rishabh Pant also scored a century in the first innings. Shubman Gill was out after scoring 147 runs in the first innings, while Rishabh Pant contributed 134 runs. However, in the second innings, Shubman Gill's bat did not work and he could score only 8 runs, but Pant once again took charge for Team India and played a fast paced half-century innings.


Jasprit Bumrah opened the claws in bowling


After brilliant batting, Jasprit Bumrah showed amazing game in bowling. Bumrah took 5 wickets in the innings for Team India. Bumrah equaled former legend Kapil Dev by taking 5 wickets in Tests for the 12th time on foreign soil. Apart from Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets for Team India and Mohammad Siraj took 2 wickets.
