LSG Plans 'Operation Safaya' After IPL 2025 Flop, 5 Players on Exit List

The performance of the Lucknow Super Giants team was very disappointing in IPL 2025. The team was able to win only 6 out of 14 matches in the league stage, due to which it finished 7th in the points table. The Lucknow team could not reach the playoffs with 12 points. The reason behind Lucknow not reaching the playoffs was the poor performance of the players of the team, on whom the franchise had spent money generously in the mega auction, but these players ruined the team. In such a situation, let us know about those five players whom Lucknow would not want to keep at any cost in the next season. Along with this, there is a lot of discussion about Rishabh Pant as well.

Lucknow's bet on Mayank Yadav went in vain

The player whom the Lucknow Supergiants team would like to release first in IPL 2026 could be the name of fast bowler Mayank Yadav. Mayank Yadav was retained by Lucknow for a huge amount of 11 crores, but he could play only 2 matches for the team in IPL 2025. Mayank Yadav was beaten badly in these two matches. A major reason behind Mayank playing only two matches was his injury. He was injured in the last season as well. In such a situation, the Lucknow team would like to include a bowler in their team in place of Mayank in the next season who is top in terms of fitness along with being sharp in bowling.

Sword hanging over Ravi Bishnoi too

Lucknow Supergiants spinner Ravi Bishnoi is also facing the threat of being released in the next season. Ravi Bishnoi's performance was also average in IPL 2025. He appeared in 11 matches for the team, in which he got only 9 wickets. Bishnoi was retained by Lucknow for IPL 2025 by paying a huge amount of Rs 11 crore, but he too could not live up to the expectations. This is the reason why the franchise can release him in the next season.

    David Miller also disappointed Lucknow

David Miller also disappointed Lucknow Supergiants in IPL 2025. Miller was bought by the Lucknow team in the auction by bidding Rs 7.50 crore, but this season he could score only 153 runs in 11 matches for his team. David Miller's flop in batting also cost Lucknow heavily. This is the reason why Lucknow can release Miller in IPL 2026.

Akashdeep also did not work for Lucknow

Akashdeep's name is also included in the players whom Lucknow's team can release in IPL 2026. Akashdeep had a very poor performance for Lucknow this season. He was able to play in only 6 matches for the team, in which he took only 3 wickets. Lucknow bought Akashdeep Singh for their team for IPL 2025 by spending a huge amount of Rs 8 crore.

Mohsin Khan remained injured throughout the season

Lucknow's team can also break ties with fast bowler Mohsin Khan in the next season. Mohsin Khan was retained by Lucknow for Rs 4 crore for IPL 2025, but due to injury he could not play a single match for the team. This is the reason why the franchise can retain him keeping fitness in mind.

Pant can become Lucknow's biggest release

Rishabh Pant can be the biggest release for Lucknow in IPL 2026. The Lucknow team opened its treasure for Pant in the IPL auction. The franchise had placed a record bid of 27 crores for Pant. In this way, Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history, but Pant was neither effective in batting for the team nor was his captaincy effective. This is the reason why there is talk of releasing him in IPL 2026. However, the final decision on this will be taken by the Lucknow management. In such a situation, it would be too early to say anything about Pant's release. Because he indicated a return to form by playing a brilliant century in the last league match, but the team did not benefit from it. Talking about Pant's performance this season, he was able to score only 269 runs in 14 matches for the team.
