MI vs RCB: Mumbai Indians lost again after coming close to victory, RCB won by 12 runs

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians have once again lost in a thrilling match in IPL 2025. Mumbai needed 123 runs in the last 8 overs against RCB. From here the team's defeat looked certain but then Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma brought excitement to the match. There was a partnership of 89 runs in 34 balls between the two. However, both were out within four balls and Mumbai lost. Playing first, RCB scored 221 runs. Mumbai's team could only score 209 runs for 9 wickets and lost by 12 runs. After 2015, RCB has defeated Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium.

    Virat and Patidar's bat spoke

Virat Kohli scored 67 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore while captain Rajat Patidar scored 64 runs. For the first time after January, Jaspreet Bumrah came on the field to play a professional match. Kohli scored his second half-century of this season with an innings of 67 runs in 42 balls. Patidar's 64 runs in 32 balls (five fours and four sixes) and Jitesh Sharma's aggressive innings of 40 runs in 18 balls (two fours and four sixes) helped the out-of-form Mumbai Indians get a target of 222 runs.

Phil Salt (four) hit a four on the first ball of the innings against Trent Boult but was bowled on the second ball. This wicket had no effect on Kohli's innings. He batted aggressively with Devdutt Padikkal (37 runs in 22 balls) and scored 72 runs for one wicket in the power play. RCB dominated the first three overs, after which Mumbai Indians handed the ball to Bumrah in the fourth over and Kohli welcomed his Indian teammate by hitting a six.

RCB, moving at a run rate of about 10 runs per over, scored 20 runs against Deepak Chahar in the last over of the power play. Padikkal shared a 91-run partnership in 52 balls with Kohli for the second wicket. Virat Kohli got caught by Naman Dheer off Hardik Pandya's ball in the 15th over. Patidar completed his half-century in just 25 balls. He scored 23 runs against Mumbai's Hardik in the 17th over. Patidar was sent back to the pavilion by Ryan Rickelton who took a brilliant catch behind the wicket off Boult in the 19th over.
