Microsoft Office Users on Hacker Hitlist, CERT-in Issues High-Risk Security Alert

India's cyber security agency CERT-in has issued a high risk security advisory for those using different Microsoft products. This advisory has been issued for those people and organizations who use Microsoft's operating system, Microsoft Office, cloud or enterprise tools. According to CERT-in, many such flaws have been found in different Microsoft products, which can be taken advantage of by hackers.

What does CERT-in have to say?

In fact, CERT-in has said in the advisory that there are many serious flaws in Microsoft products due to which users may face problems like system crash, data theft or remote control hacking. Giving details of these flaws, CERT-in has said that these flaws can be divided into categories like Remote Code Execution (RCE), Privilege Escalation and Security Feature Bypass. Let us tell you that all these flaws are considered very dangerous in terms of security.

    Which products are at risk

CERT-In has shared a list of Microsoft products whose flaws can be exploited by hackers to attack. These include all versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel and Outlook etc. are also named in it. Apart from these, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Edge Browser, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Teams, Azure are also included in this list.

    What should users do now

Let us tell you that Microsoft itself has accepted the flaws pointed out by CERT-in. Also, all the Microsoft products mentioned in the advisory of CERT-in are used in large numbers. Now if you are also using these products, then you will have to wait for the updates provided by Microsoft. In these updates, Microsoft will try to remove the flaws pointed out by CERT-in. In such a situation, as soon as you get updates of all these products, apply them immediately.
