Recently in a video, actor Shardul Pandit talked about the controversial incident related to Ory, who has been accused of drinking alcohol near the Vaishno Devi temple and an FIR was also registered against 7 people. Shardul spoke on this matter and also expressed concern. On Wednesday, Shardul posted a video on his Instagram handle and wrote, 'What do you think sorry goes on because it is ORRY. So this video is related to a case being filed against ORRY and his friends. An FIR has been filed against them for consuming non-veg and alcohol in Vaishno Devi. He was informed about it by the hotel staff. #orry #shardulpandit #fyp #explore #vaishnodevi #trending.'
In the video, Pandit said, 'I am asking this with great respect but the question may be harsh. If you like Orry, you may not like this video, please do not watch it. 7 people including Orry were booked at Vaishno Devi and this FIR was registered for drinking alcohol, which is against the rules there. The hotel staff had informed him and his friends about the rules. When the FIR was filed, Orry fled from there. It is possible that after this video, Orry may never come on my podcast. I am not against you, I am against this act.'
Raised questions on Orry
He further said, 'People say that media trial is completely wrong, and I agree with that. Another person may say that this man is a celebrity, that is why people are following him, and that is why the government is overreacting. But does being a celebrity really give you a 'hall pass' where everything is allowed? What my mother used to say is whether you believe in a religion or not, if someone else follows it, you should respect their sentiments.'
Shardul's question to the people
Shardul said, 'My question is that people often say that people in India overreact. But if the same acts were done at a religious place in any other country, would they be treated the same way? What do you think about this? I really want to know.' Let us tell you that seven people along with Ori have been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly consuming alcohol near the Vaishno Devi temple.
One Russian among the seven
Reportedly, the state police have filed an FIR against all of them for consuming alcohol in a restricted area in Katra. The accused also include a Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina, who accompanied Ori and his companions during their visit to Katra. They have been charged with violating the orders of the District Magistrate and allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
