Rajamouli’s Varanasi reported to be made on ₹1,300 crore budget

SS Rajamouli and his films are incredible. He is known worldwide for his 'larger-than-life' movies. Whether it's 'Baahubali' or RRR, all of them have created a storm at the box office, collecting over ₹100 crore and setting several records. Now he is coming with 'Varanasi', which will feature Mahesh Babu along with Priyanka Chopra. The information that has come to light regarding the budget of this movie is shocking.

The title of SS Rajamouli's next pan-India film 'Varanasi' was announced a few days ago, with a grand event held in Hyderabad. The entire star cast was present, and a huge crowd of fans was seen. Some glimpses of the characters were also shown. Now, there is speculation that its budget is around ₹1300 crore.

    Priyanka Chopra reveals 'Varanasi's budget

The makers have not yet confirmed the film's budget. But Priyanka Chopra reacted to this news on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show'. Kapil Sharma told the audience about the actress, "Everyone knows that Priyanka doesn't do anything small. Everything she does is larger than life. Now she's doing a film with Rajamouli sir. And you know Rajamouli sir's films are always big budget. But this time, since Priyanka is involved, we've heard that the film's budget is ₹1300 crore?" Priyanka Chopra comments on the ₹1300 crore 'Varanasi' project

When the actress smiles and nods in agreement, Kapil asks, "So, will this ₹1300 crore only be used to make the film, or will you also provide jobs to the people of Varanasi? Earlier, they said there was no budget. But since you've come on board, the budget has increased. Is this true? I'm just confirming since you're here." Priyanka replies, "Are you trying to say that half the budget went into my bank account?" The comedian says, "That's what it sounds like." The actress says, "You're trying to twist things around." Then Navjot asks, "What kind of film is this? What's the plot?" To which Kapil replies, "Rajamouli didn't reveal why Kattappa killed Bahubali before the second part of Bahubali, so do you think he'll reveal the plot of this film?"

'Varanasi' is the second highest-budget movie after 'Ramayanam'

According to reports, the actress is receiving ₹30 crore as her fee for this film. If this is true, she will become the highest-paid actress. In terms of budget, Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayanam' has a higher budget, which is reportedly ₹4000 crore for both parts combined. Thus, Rajamouli's film has become the second highest-budget movie in Indian cinema, with its release scheduled for March 2027.
