Renowned rapper Badshah has now received a death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang over his song 'Tatiri.' Previously, the Women's Commission had issued orders for his arrest. The Haryana Police were instructed to arrest him if he failed to cooperate with the investigation; furthermore, his passport was to be confiscated should he attempt to travel abroad. Now, he has been threatened via a post on social media. The post claims that they had previously issued him a warning over the phone.
The threatening post—made on a Facebook account named 'Randeep Malik Anil Pandit'—reads: "Jai Mahakal... Jai Shri Ram. Greetings to all brothers. The firing incident that took place today at the office of Gary and Shanky—at Western Union (a hawala operator) on Asandh Road, Panipat—was orchestrated by me, Randeep Malik, and Anil Pandit (USA). He [the target] was damaging the country's economy by siphoning money out of the nation through hawala channels."
Badshah Receives Threat from Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
The post continues: "He operates a hawala racket on a massive scale. We had called him to issue a warning, but he failed to heed it. This was merely a trailer; the full movie is yet to come. And to everyone involved in hawala operations: mend your ways while you still have time. Otherwise, the consequences for all of you will be dire. Note: To the singer Badshah—regarding your attempt to corrupt the culture of Haryana: we previously showed you a 'trailer' at your club back in 2020. This time, we will shoot you directly in the forehead."
The Objectionable Line in Badshah's 'Tatiri'
The individual issuing these threats claims to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. People have raised objections to a specific line in the rapper's Haryanvi song, 'Tateeri,' which features the lyrics: "Badshah has arrived to put [women] in the palanquin, and to turn all these [men] into mares." Critics claim that this line portrays the women of Haryana in an indecent manner. However, following the controversy, the rapper removed the song from social media. Additionally, he issued a public apology to everyone via a video message.
Controversy Surrounding Badshah's Song
The controversy erupted when the Haryana Police registered an FIR against Badshah. According to the police, the song's music video depicts girls dressed in school uniforms dancing inside a Haryana Roadways bus, and features certain gestures and lyrics that have been deemed objectionable. On these grounds, the police registered a case against Badshah and initiated the process of issuing a lookout notice against him.
