RCB Gets Major Boost Before IPL Restart, Two Star All-Rounders Return

Hazlewood’s exit was a blow to RCB, but ahead of IPL 2025's resumption, the franchise received a morale boost with two star all-rounders making a comeback to the squad.

RCB Gets Major Boost Before IPL Restart, Two Star All-Rounders Return

New Delhi: IPL 2025 is going to start once again. Royal Challengers Bangalore are going to face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on May 17 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The IPL had to be suspended for a week due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan. In such a situation, the return of many foreign players remains doubtful. But in the meantime, a big good news has come for the RCB team.

Return of two players in RCB team

RCB has got strength with the return of Romario Shepherd. It is learned that West Indies players including KKR's Sunil Narine and Andre Russell were in Dubai and have returned to India together. Along with Shepherd, Liam Livingstone has also reached Bangalore. He is also expected to play a role in the remaining matches of the season. RCB is just one win away from making it to the playoffs. With a win against KKR, they can become the first team to do so.

Many players will be out of IPL

Another news is that the England Cricket Board has prioritized national duty before IPL. Many big players of England will not be able to play in the remaining matches of the 2025 season to prepare for the West Indies series. Jacob Bethell impressed everyone by scoring a half-century against CSK. He has already joined his RCB teammates. He is expected to play in the next match. Bethell has been included in England's white ball team. At the same time, another RCB star Phil Salt has got a place in the T20I team only.

    RCB's performance was excellent

RCB has won eight matches so far and they have been performing consistently well throughout the season. Virat Kohli's excellent form has been very helpful for the IPL franchise. However, this team has not yet won the IPL trophy. The lack of Josh Hazlewood can pose a serious threat to their playoff hopes. If they reach the playoffs, they will not be able to get Bethell's services. He will have to leave in time to play against the West Indies. Considering the World Test Championship, the availability of Lungi Ngidi is not yet decided. This South African fast bowler has been included in the team. Now it remains to be seen whether he comes to India or not.
