RCB’s Top-2 Dream Shattered as SRH Crushes Bangalore with Dominant Win

Lucknow: Royal Challengers Bangalore have lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025. Pat Cummins' team won by 42 runs. RCB have made it to the playoffs. However, to secure their place in the top-2 of the table, they had to win both their remaining matches. Now RCB will have to depend on the results of other teams. Playing first, Hyderabad scored 231 runs. In response, RCB's score was 163 for 3 after 14 overs. Even after this, the team was all out for 189 runs in the last over.

Wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan played an unbeaten innings of 94 runs. He hit seven fours and five sixes in his unbeaten innings of 48 balls. Abhishek Sharma (34 off 17 balls), Heinrich Klaasen (24 off 13 balls), Aniket Verma (26 off nine balls) and Travis Head (17 off 10 balls) kept the pressure on the RCB bowlers with aggressive batting. Romario Shepherd took two wickets for 14 runs in two overs while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Lungi Ngidi, Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya got one wicket each.

On being invited to bat first, Head opened his account with a four against Yash Dayal, while Abhishek hit sixes and fours against both Bhuvneshwar and Dayal. Head welcomed Ngidi with a four in the fourth over, while Abhishek completed the team's fifty in 3.3 overs by hitting a six over extra cover. However, he returned to the pavilion after being caught by Phil Salt on the last ball of the over.

Bhuvneshwar gave RCB a big success by resting Head's innings in the next over. Klaasen, who came to the crease, maintained the team's run rate by hitting a four and a six against Suyash in the seventh over. After Kishan's two fours in Suyash's next over, Klaasen also sent the ball across the boundary line and completed the team's century in the ninth over. This leg spinner sent the aggressive wicketkeeper batsman of South Africa to the pavilion by getting him caught by Shepherd at long on.

Aniket Verma showed a very aggressive attitude and hit three sixes and a four in his nine-ball innings but he became the first victim of Krunal Pandya. Kishan completed his half-century in 14 overs. From the other end, Shepherd continued to give shocks to SRH by dismissing Nitish Kumar Reddy (four) on a slow ball and Abhinav Manohar (12) on a short ball. Kishan, however, smashed sixes off Shepherd and then Bhuvneshwar to take the team past the 200-run mark in the 18th over.
