Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill Skip Bronco Test – Hidden Truth Behind Fitness Check

New Delhi: Apart from India's ODI captain Rohit Sharma and Test captain Shubman Gill, fitness tests of other Indian players have also been conducted in Bengaluru. However, the recently introduced Bronco test has reportedly not been used during the fitness test. According to the report, the players had to prove their fitness under the current system. This means that the Bronco test was not used.

The source told the Times of India, 'The Bronco test can be done in Dubai when the whole squad will be together for the Asia Cup. The team will start leaving from late tonight and will have its first session at the ICC Academy on September 5. So if the management wants to do the Bronco test, it can be done in Dubai.'

Asia Cup will start from 9 September

Asia Cup 2025 will start from 9 September with the match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong. Keeping in mind the 2026 T20 World Cup, this time the Asia Cup will be played in T20 format. Let us tell you that the Indian team will start its campaign on 10 September by playing against UAE. At the same time, India will play against its arch-rival Pakistan in Dubai on 14 September.

Only 2 Asia Cups have been held in T20 format so far

In the history of Asia Cup, this tournament has been played in T20 format only twice so far. The T20 Asia Cup was played for the first time in 2016 while the second time it was played in 2022. India won the first edition. At the same time, Sri Lanka became the champion of T20 Asia Cup for the second time. Last month, BCCI announced the Indian team for Asia Cup 2025. Suryakumar Yadav will be seen captaining the team while Test captain Shubman Gill has been made the vice-captain.
