Sarvam AI launches Bulbul V3 voice model with native Indian language support

Bengaluru-based startup Sarvam has launched its new AI voice model, Bulbul V3, to challenge chatbots like Gemini and ChatGPT. Sarvam's AI not only speaks like a human but also understands Indian accents and other nuances. This made-in-India AI model, which rivals Gemini and ChatGPT, can speak seamlessly and seamlessly in 11 languages.

What's unique about the Indian AI model Bulbul V3?

Bulbul V3's most significant strength is that it outperformed larger competing AI models, such as Cartesia Sonic-3, in a study. It also emerged as the world's number one model in telephony evaluation (8 kHz). Its unique feature is that it not only speaks but also takes into account emotions, pauses, and correct intonation. This remarkable model from an Indian company has demonstrated that India is not only a user of AI but also a creator.

Expertise in Hinglish, including regional languages

A characteristic of Indian languages is that we often mix multiple languages within a single sentence. This is called code-mixing. Sarvam AI's model Bulbul V3 understands this complexity well.

According to the report (REF.), this AI model combines over 35 high-quality voices, created with the help of real Indian voice artists. Whether it's local names or local pronunciations, Bulbul V3 speaks them flawlessly.

The Bulbul V3 model supports 11 Indian languages and will soon be available in all 22 official languages. This makes it truly India's AI.

    India AI Mission Success

Sarvam AI is one of the few institutions selected by the Indian government to develop indigenous AI models under the ₹10,300 crore India AI Mission. This model is also part of preparations for the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held this month. Developers can access it for free until February 28th. This Made in India AI will also include advanced features like voice cloning.
