Scam Alert: Delivery Boy Demands Money Twice, Internet Reacts to Viral Reddit Post

If you are placing an online order, then you have to be alert on many fronts. Especially if you have already paid for your order and when the goods arrive, you are being asked to pay again, then this is a type of 'scam'. You should immediately report this to the concerned company from where you have ordered the goods.

In a viral post on the internet, a Reddit user has also told about a similar incident that happened to him. The person has told how the delivery agent tried to cheat him but he caught the package as soon as he saw whether the order was paid or not and immediately exposed his 'scam'. On being caught stealing, the delivery boy went away mumbling.

    Delivery boy's scam…

On the Reddit page of r/mumbai, a user named @Active_Software_6294 has told about the scam that happened to him with the title '[New Scam Unlocked] Delivery person fraudulently demanded cash on delivery on prepaid order'. However, that user saves himself from this scam.

The user said at the beginning of his post that I am sharing what happened to me today thinking that it may help someone to avoid 'scam'. He further told that a delivery boy brings a package to his house and tells him that you have to pay for this order. The person already knows that this order is prepaid.

But the customer starts thinking a little about this. During this, he remembers that the order has been placed by his sister. In such a situation, when he sees 'prepaid' written in bold letters on the package, he becomes completely convinced. But despite this, the delivery boy insists that the order is showing COD (cash on delivery) on his phone.

    Do not come under pressure...

The delivery boy tried to pressure the customer to make the payment. In such a situation, the customer asked him to check again, after a long argument, the delivery boy suddenly said, 'Okay, don't do it, I will talk to my boss.' He probably said this to ask for cash on the paid order to save his life.

The Reddit user further wrote that he was clearly trying to cheat me, as he was showing my COD status and was hoping that I would get deceived and make the payment again. So the lesson of this story is that always double-check your order, especially when someone is forcing you to make a payment, even when it is not correct. Do not fall into the strategy of pressure and be careful.
