SRH Falls at Home! Pooran’s Blazing Fifty Powers LSG to Victory

Hyderabad: First Shardul Thakur's strong bowling and then Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh's stormy fifties helped Lucknow Supergiants beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets at their home. In this match played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, the Sunrisers team, after losing the toss, batted first and scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, Lucknow achieved the target with 23 balls to spare and registered their win of the season.

Nicholas Pooran batted explosively for Lucknow in this match. During this, he also got strong support from Mitchell Marsh. Nicholas Pooran completed his fifty in just 18 balls in the innings for Lucknow. Batting fast, Pooran was moving towards the century when Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins got him LBW. However, Pooran used DRS to save himself, but he was found in front of the wicket. In this way, Pooran scored the fastest fifty of the 18th season and was out after scoring 70 runs in 26 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 6 fours.

Mitchell Marsh also made a splash in batting

Apart from Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh made a splash in the innings for Lucknow. As long as Nicole Pooran was standing at the crease, Mitchell Marsh was only supporting him, but as soon as Pooran got out, Marsh also changed his gear and completed his fifty while batting in a stormy manner. However, as soon as the fifty was completed, Marsh lost his rhythm and got out. Marsh was out for Lucknow after scoring 52 runs with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes in 31 balls. After the dismissal of Mitchell Marsh, captain Rishabh Pant himself took the charge for Lucknow. However, he could not play a long innings. Pant lost his wicket after scoring just 15 runs in 15 balls.

Shardul Thakur shines for Lucknow in bowling

Shardul Thakur showed his amazing performance in bowling for Lucknow Supergiants. Shardul bowled tight and took 4 wickets for just 34 runs in 4 overs for his team. Shardul sent Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan back to the pavilion by dismissing them on two consecutive balls in his bowling. Apart from Shardul, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi and Prince Yadav also took one wicket each in the innings for Lucknow.

    Sunrisers' batting was poor

Sunrisers Hyderabad were invited to bat first after losing the toss in the match against Lucknow. In the match, opener Travis Head was looking in great form for SRH but could only score 47 runs in 28 balls. He was the top scorer of the team. Apart from him, Aniket Verma contributed 36 and Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed 32 runs. Head faced the bowlers of the rival team bravely and hit five fours and three sixes. He scored 18 runs in the fourth over against Avesh by hitting two sixes and a four. Head was lucky to get two lives. Head lifted Bishnoi's first ball up and Pooran, standing at long on, had a chance to take an easy catch but this West Indies player missed it.

Then Head hit a six in the cover off Bishnoi. Bishnoi had another chance to take Head's wicket on the fifth ball of the sixth over, but he failed to take a difficult return catch. Heinrich Klaasen (26 off 17 balls) was looking dangerous but was run out. Nitish Reddy was expected to play a big innings but was bowled off Bishnoi. Young Aniket Verma scored 36 runs with the help of five sixes in 13 balls but was caught by David Miller off leg-spinner Digvesh Rathi. SRH captain Pat Cummins (18 off 4 balls) hit three sixes off the first three balls before getting out.
