    With IPL 2025 set to resume on May 17, Cricket Australia has finally issued a statement regarding Australian players' participation and potential clash with WTC final preparations.

    WTC Final or IPL? Cricket Australia Issues Update on Players Returning to India

    New Delhi: The thrill of IPL 2025, which was halted midway due to tension between India and Pakistan, will resume from May 17. The league was suspended for a week after tensions escalated. Due to this many foreign players returned to their respective countries. There has been a ceasefire between India and Pakistan but even after this many players no longer want to play in the remaining matches of IPL.


    Cricket Australia will support the players

    After the schedule of the remaining matches of IPL came out, Cricket Australia has decided to give full support to the players who do not want to return to India. Many Australian players and staff members returned to their homes after the IPL was halted on May 9. With the league resuming, they have a difficult decision ahead of them as the World Test Championship title match is scheduled to begin on June 11.

    Cricket Australia issued a statement saying, 'Cricket Australia will support the players' personal decisions to return to India or not. The team management will prepare for the World Test Championship Final for those players who wish to play in the remaining IPL matches. We are in constant touch with the Australian Government and the BCCI regarding security arrangements.'


    IPL will resume from May 17


    There are still 17 more matches to be played in IPL 2025. It has 13 group matches and 4 playoff matches. The league matches will resume from May 17. The BCCI announced the schedule of the remaining matches on Monday night. Royal Challengers Bangalore will clash against Kolkata Knightriders on 17 May in Bangalore. The last group match will be played on 27 May. During this, there will be double headers on 18 and 25 May. The playoffs will start on 29 May. The final of IPL 2025 will be played on 3 June. The host of the playoff matches has not been decided yet.
