ZIM vs SA: South Africa Crush Zimbabwe by 7 Wickets, Storm into Tri-Series Final

Harare: In the fourth match of the T20I tri-series played at Harare Sports Club, South Africa beat hosts Zimbabwe by 7 wickets. This is Zimbabwe's third consecutive defeat in the series. With this win, South Africa has now reached the final. In the final, South Africa will face New Zealand on 26 July. In the fourth match, Zimbabwe batted first and scored 144 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, South Africa achieved the target in 17.2 overs, with 16 balls to spare.

Zimbabwe had a good start while batting in the match, but after losing the first wicket, the team could not recover. Wesley Madhevere (13) hit consecutive fours on Lungi Ngidi, but was soon dismissed by Corbin Bosch. Clive Madande (8) hit a six on Nandre Burger, but he too fell prey to Bosch. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been dismissed for eight runs in all three matches of this tri-series.

Middle order showed strength for Zimbabwe

Captain Sikandar Raza (9) could not make any significant impact in the middle order for Zimbabwe, as he gave the ball straight to Burger at deep backward square while trying to play a slog sweep. However, after this, Brian Bennett and Ryan Burl (36) together took control of the innings by sharing 78 runs for the hosts. Bennett started the comeback by hitting a six and a four off Nkabayomezi Peter and did the same with George Linde, scoring 13 runs in the 13th over.

South Africa chased the runs comfortably

In response to this score against Zimbabwe, South Africa did not have a great start. The team lost 2 wickets at a score of just 22 runs, but with the excellent half-century innings of Rassie van der Dussen and Rubin Herman, South Africa won the match at the loss of just 3 wickets. Dussen scored 52 runs in 41 balls while Rubin contributed 63 runs.
