    14 Years Later, PM Modi Makes Devotee Wear Shoes Again—Who Is Rampal Kashyap?

    Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has millions of fans and supporters but during his Haryana tour he met Kaithal resident Rampal Kashyap. When Rampal Kashyap came in front of PM Modi, PM Modi said, "Hey brother, why did you do this? Why do you trouble yourself?" Actually, Kaithal resident Rampal Kashyap had taken a vow 14 years ago that until Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister and I meet him, I will not wear shoes. PM Modi became PM in 2014 but Rampal Kashyap's wish was fulfilled but meeting him was still pending. After this, Rampal Kashyap stuck to his resolution.

    On Monday, on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, when PM Modi reached Yamunanagar, the second stop of his Haryana tour, Rampal Kashyap's 14-year-old wait ended. PM Modi met Rampal Kashyap and then asked him not to do this. PM Modi gave Rampal Kashyap a pair of new shoes which he wore in front of PM Modi. After the Yamunanagar tour, PM Modi shared a video and wrote in it, 'Today I got the privilege of meeting Rampal Kashyap of Kaithal in Yamunanagar, Haryana. He had taken a vow 14 years ago that 'I will not wear shoes until Modi becomes the Prime Minister and I meet him.' Today I got the opportunity to make him wear shoes.

    PM appeals to fans

    PM Modi further wrote that I respect the sentiments of all such colleagues, but I request them to take a pledge of some social or national work instead of taking such pledges. PM Modi has an old connection with Haryana. On Monday, he also mentioned his connection with Haryana. PM Modi said that when he was in charge of Haryana, he used to come to Yamunanagar. PM Modi said that Yamunanagar is today contributing to the economic development of the country by moving ahead in everything from plywood to brass and steel.
