New Delhi: Russia has made a significant proposal regarding India's high-speed rail network. Russian rolling stock manufacturer Transmashholding (TMH) has offered to jointly develop and manufacture its Ivolga FG high-speed train in India. The train's design speed is stated to be 360 kmph. This means it will surpass the Vande Bharat Express and the soon-to-be-launched Bullet Train in speed.
The Ivolga FG high-speed train concept was presented during the BRICS summit held in New Delhi. Russia proposes that Russia and India jointly conduct research and development in the field of high-speed railway technology, and that this train be manufactured in India. If India also agrees to this, India will have a large fleet of high-speed trains.
What is the speed of the Bullet Train and Vande Bharat?
Bullet trains for general passengers may be introduced in India soon. Their construction is in the final stages.

The Ivolga 4.0 has three doors in each intermediate coach, reducing passenger boarding and alighting time by approximately 30%.
The train features 1400 mm wide doors, open gangways between coaches, smart lighting, USB charging ports, and climate control.
Separate spaces have also been provided for bicycles, scooters, and disabled passengers.
