AFG vs ENG: Ibrahim Shatters Champions Trophy Record—Highest Score in History!

New Delhi. Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran has made a new record for the highest score in the Champions Trophy. He played an innings of 177 runs against England. This is the first time in the 27-year history of this ICC tournament that a batsman has played an innings bigger than 175 runs. Thanks to his innings, Afghanistan scored 325 runs for 7 wickets against England.

Australia broke the record in 4 hours

A mountain of runs is being created in England's matches in the Champions Trophy 2025. England started this tournament against Australia. Then England scored 351 runs, which was the highest score in the history of the tournament at that time. Australia proved this score too small and won the match by scoring 356 runs for 5 wickets.

    Ibrahim Zadran changed the game

England's second match in the Champions Trophy was against Afghanistan. In this match played in Lahore, Afghanistan won the toss and batted first and scored 325 runs for 7 wickets. Afghanistan had lost 3 wickets for 37 runs at one point in the match. Then it seemed that their decision to bat first would prove wrong, but Ibrahim Zadran changed the whole game.

Ben Duckett's record did not last even 4 days

Ibrahim Zadran not only took his team to 325 runs by playing an innings of 177 runs, but also broke Ben Duckett's record during this time. England's opener Ben Duckett scored 165 runs against Australia on 22 February, which was the highest individual score in the Champions Trophy. Ibrahim Zadran has now made this record in his name, leaving Ben Duckett behind.

Ibrahim Zadran hit 12 fours and 6 sixes in his innings of 146 balls. He made 3 big partnerships in the match. Ibrahim first took the team out of trouble by making a partnership of 103 runs with captain Hasmatullah Shahidi (40). Then he took the team forward strongly by making a partnership of 72 runs with Azmatullah Omarzai (41). Ibrahim then took his team past 300 runs along with Mohammad Nabi (40). He made a partnership of 111 runs with Nabi.
