After Pahalgam Terror Attack, Demand Rises for Naval Blockade to Pressure Pakistan

Srinagar / New Delhi. The latest terrorist attack in Pahalgam, a beautiful tourist destination of Jammu and Kashmir, has once again shaken the entire country. Security forces were targeted in this attack, in which many soldiers have been injured. Once again the face of terror has come to the fore and fingers are once again pointing towards Pakistan.

After this cowardly attack, a wave of anger has run across the country. From social media to the ground level, the common citizens are demanding that now there should be action and not just rhetoric. Many defense experts and common citizens have demanded the Indian government to take strict action against Pakistan – in which the suggestion of naval blockade is resonating the most.

    What is naval blockade?

Naval blockade means completely stopping Pakistan's supply and trade movement through sea routes. This will have a deep impact on Pakistan's economy, as it is largely dependent on sea routes for oil, imports and exports.

Why is this demand being raised?

The Pahalgam attack is not the first attack. India has faced attacks like Pulwama, Uri, Pathankot so far. Every time India showed restraint, cornered Pakistan on international forums, but now the general public says - "Enough is enough!"

Voices are coming from every corner of the country -

"Diplomacy is in its place, but now it is necessary to give a strong message. If we want to stop Pakistan's nefarious activities, then its economic backbone will have to be broken."

How is the atmosphere on social media?

Hashtags are trending on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram -

    #NavalBlockadeOnPakistan #PahalgamAttack #IndiaStrikesBack #NoMoreTalks

People are appealing to Prime Minister Modi and Defense Minister to teach Pakistan a lesson.

    What are defense experts saying?

Former naval officer Admiral Arun Prakash says,

"India's navy is so capable today that if we want, we can stop Pakistan's maritime movement within a week. This will be a powerful message - like stopping the enemy's breath without crossing the border."

    Government's response?

There has been no official statement on the naval blockade at the government level so far, but the Home Ministry has said that "we are considering every option. The country's security is paramount."

    Conclusion:

The Pahalgam attack has made it clear that Pakistan is not going to stop its activities. It will become clear in the coming days which direction India will take now. But the mood of the public is very clear - now we want answers in actions, not words.
