New Delhi: The results of the Maharashtra local body elections have sparked a political conflict. To form the government in the municipal corporation, the BJP first allied with Congress against Shinde's Shiv Sena in Thane. Now, reports are emerging of the BJP also forming an alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi's party, AIMIM.
This alliance between the ruling and opposition parties has intensified political activity in the state. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde's son, Shrikant Shinde, had opposed this alliance. Now, even
has expressed his objection to the party's decision.
CM Fadnavis expresses displeasure
CM Fadnavis has completely rejected this alliance. He has also warned party leaders. The CM clarified that this alliance did not have the approval of the party's senior leaders. This constitutes a violation of organizational discipline.
According to CM Fadnavis,
"I want to make it clear that no alliance with Congress and AIMIM will be accepted. If any local leader takes such a decision, it will be against discipline, and action will be taken against them."
Opposition raises questions
Opposition parties have also started targeting the BJP over these alliances. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut criticized the BJP, saying, "What happened in Ambernath and Akot? This reflects the BJP's attitude. To stay in power, they are ready to ally with anyone."
It is worth noting that the BJP has formed a government in the Ambernath Municipal Corporation seat in Thane by allying with Congress. Now, the BJP has announced an alliance with AIMIM in the Akot Municipal Corporation of Akola district.
