China Calls for Stronger Ties with India! Jaishankar’s Response Softens Diplomatic Tensions

Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that relations between Beijing and New Delhi have moved in a positive direction in the last one year. He said that both countries need to focus on working together to achieve common success. On the question of relations with New Delhi on Friday, Wang said that both countries should support each other, not try to weaken each other. Wang Yi's remarks came after Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar's statement on India-China relations. The Indian Foreign Minister recently said that India wants a stable relationship with China. After this, now the Chinese minister has talked about working together.

According to a Firstpost report, Wang also stressed that China and India should come together to promote the development of the Global South and the border dispute between the two countries should not be the only factor determining their bilateral relations. Wang said that India and China should cooperate together instead of being cautious against each other.

What Jaishankar has said

Jaishankar, who is on a visit to Britain, speaking on the relationship with China at a panel discussion at Chatham House in London, said that a stable balance needs to be created. We want a stable relationship. The Indian Foreign Minister said that India wants a stable relationship with China, in which New Delhi's interests are respected. This is the main challenge in our relationship.

The Indian Foreign Minister said that in the last 40 years it has been established that peace and stability on the borders will strengthen the relationship between the two countries. If the border is unstable then it will inevitably affect the growth and direction of our relationship. Jaishankar said that the two countries are discussing steps to see how relations between the two countries can move in a more predictable, stable and positive direction.

Both the Chinese and Indian foreign ministers have agreed that it is important for the two countries to have better relations. However, a difference has been seen in the statements of both. China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi says that the border dispute should not be given top priority. On the other hand, India's Foreign Minister Jaishankar believes that the border dispute needs to be resolved.
