New Delhi: Since the return of Donald Trump to America, the world order seems to be changing. As a big market, the eyes of the whole world are looking towards China and India. Powerful countries like America and Russia also understand the importance of China and India very well. Meanwhile, the surprising thing is that the attitude of China, which is threatening India on LAC, is continuously softening. China is now offering good relations to India.
China’s Foreign Minister's Statement on India
In fact, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Friday that there has been a positive development in relations between India and China, and encouraging results have been achieved at all levels after the more than 4-year-long military standoff in eastern Ladakh ended last year.
Wang made this remark during his annual press conference. He was asked how China views bilateral relations after ending the long-standing deadlock in relations between the two countries. Wang said, "After the successful meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in the Russian city of Kazan, there has been positive progress in China-India relations last year."
What Did China Say About Relations With India?
After the tension between India and China on the LAC, both countries are trying to normalize relations. After the meeting of Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping in Kazan last year, the two countries have started high-level talks. Officials like National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri are holding talks with Chinese officials to reduce tensions and normalize relations.
Wang Yi said that both countries have the ability to maintain peace in their borders and find a fair solution to differences. He added that the border dispute should not dominate the entire relationship.
How Did China Come Back on Track?
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, who recently visited Britain, gave a direct and clear answer to the question asked about India-China relations. This answer is going to open China's eyes.
Actually, S. Jaishankar discussed the topic 'India's Rise and Role in the World' at London's think tank Chatham House. During this, he was asked what kind of relationship India wants with China.
Jaishankar Opened China's Eyes
In response to the question, Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar clearly said that,
"We have a very unique relationship. We are the only two countries in the world whose population is more than one billion. We both have a long history, which has seen ups and downs over time."
He further said,
"Today, both countries are on the path of progress. This is the challenge and we are also direct neighbors. The challenge is that as a country progresses, its balance with the world and its neighbors changes."
It is clear from Jaishankar's answer that China will affect its progress by maintaining tension with India. Nothing will be achieved by this.
