COVID-19 in Maharashtra: 132 Cases Confirmed in 2025, Health Survey Raises Alarm

COVID-19 Case: Maharashtra health officials said that 26 cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed in Maharashtra on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases this year to 132.

Covid 19 Cases Maharashtra: A survey conducted in Maharashtra has revealed frightening cases of coronavirus infection. According to the survey, 22 percent of the families included in it had one or more members who had symptoms of COVID, flu or viral fever. While 15 percent said that two or more members are suffering from viral-like symptoms. Community social media platform Apne has claimed this on Thursday (May 22).

Maharashtra health officials said that 26 cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed in Maharashtra on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases this year to 132.

2 patients have died of corona in 2025

According to Maharashtra Health Department officials, 2 cases of Covid-19 related deaths have been reported since January this year. Both these Covid-19 related deaths have occurred in Mumbai. The two people who died of Covid-19 were already suffering from serious diseases.

One of the deceased had kidney related disease with 'hypocalcemia' attack. While the other person was a cancer patient. A total of 6,066 samples have been tested since January, out of which 106 have been confirmed to have Covid-19. Of these, 101 patients were from Mumbai and the rest from Pune, Thane and Kolhapur. Currently, 52 patients have mild symptoms of COVID-19, whose treatment is going on in 16 hospitals.

    Health officials should advise testing

A survey report conducted in Maharashtra says that health officials should advise unhealthy people, especially those suffering from other diseases, to get tested. They are more vulnerable to the risks associated with COVID.

According to a survey conducted by community social media platform 'Local Circles', in previous surveys of 2024, it found that only one in 20 people with symptoms of infection with the virus got tested for COVID, which indicates that the official cases of infection may be much lower than the actual number.

While looking at the official figures of the number of COVID cases in Maharashtra being less than 100, these figures also have to be taken into account. According to the report, it is possible that the government figures may be very low and if the symptoms are mild, the treatment of the disease will be similar to seasonal flu.

7 thousand people from 27 districts participated in the survey

The survey report is based on information provided by more than 7 thousand residents of 27 districts of Maharashtra. 54 percent of these respondents were from Mumbai and Pune. 63 percent of the participants were men while 37 percent were women.
