CSK Struggles Under Dhoni's Captaincy! KKR Rattles Chennai Top Order in Powerplay

Chennai: The poor form of five-time champion Chennai Super Kings continues in IPL 2025. After losing the toss in the 25th match of this season, the CSK team, which came out to bat first, was out of breath in the power play itself. CSK could score only 31 runs in the first 6 overs while batting sluggishly. During this, KKR bowlers also took two big wickets. In this way, the CSK team scored the second lowest score while playing in the powerplay this season.

Earlier, CSK had scored 30 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the first 6 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at their home. In such a situation, CSK did such a feat for the second time. Let us tell you that when Mahendra Singh Dhoni came for the toss for CSK against KKR, he expressed his desire to bat first, but the top order batsmen of the team disappointed badly. Not only this, the CSK team somehow managed to cross the 100-run mark in this match against KKR. After losing the toss, CSK scored only 103 runs while batting first.

CSK has suffered four consecutive defeats

Chennai Super Kings' condition has been bad in IPL 2025. CSK started this season with a win against Mumbai Indians, but after that it deviated from its rhythm. The team had to face defeat in four consecutive matches after this. Meanwhile, CSK also suffered a major setback in the form of Rituraj Gaikwad.

Actually Gaikwad was ruled out of the entire season due to an elbow injury. In such a situation, veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni has to take charge of the team. Dhoni has earlier taken over the captaincy for CSK in the middle of the season in the year 2022 as well.
