    Digvesh Rathi Banned for One Match, 50% Match Fee Deducted for Repeat Offence

    Lucknow Super Giants pacer Digvesh Rathi has been handed a one-match ban and fined 50% of his match fee by the IPL disciplinary committee for repeated misconduct.

    Digvesh Rathi Banned for One Match, 50% Match Fee Deducted for Repeat Offence

    Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants bowler Digvesh Rathi has been fined 50 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday. This is the third time this season that he has violated Level 1 under Article 2.5. Therefore, he has received two demerit points. Earlier he received one demerit point against Punjab Kings (April 1, 2025) and two demerit points against Mumbai Indians (April 4, 2025).


    Now he has a total of five demerit points this season, due to which he has now been banned for one match. Digvesh Rathi will no longer be seen playing in Lucknow Super Giants' next match against Gujarat Titans on May 22. Let us tell you that this match will be played in Ahmedabad.


    Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Abhishek Sharma also fined


    Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Abhishek Sharma has also been fined 25 percent of his match fee for breaking the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. This is the first time this season that he has violated Level 1 under Article 2.6. Therefore, he has got one demerit point.

    Let us tell you that Lucknow bowler Digvesh Rathi had dismissed Sunrisers Hyderabad's Abhishek Sharma. After getting out, Digvesh did the notebook celebration, for which he was fined twice earlier this season. However, he did this celebration and also made some gestures to Abhishek. Abhishek Sharma also got angry due to Digvesh doing this. The atmosphere on the field became quite heated between the two. There was a heated argument between the two, after which the players and the umpire had to intervene to resolve the matter.
