Actor Ejaz Khan, who appeared in Bigg Boss Season 7, is in the news these days for his new show 'House Arrest'. However, now he is in legal trouble. A case has been registered at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai against Ejaz Khan and others associated with the show for showing obscene content in the show.
Know what is the whole matter
Actually, Ejaz Khan is hosting the show 'House Arrest'. Recently, some videos of this show went viral on social media, in which female contestants were seen taking off their clothes. Not only this, in a video, the contestants were also asked to give objectionable poses. Seeing this, along with the users, many political personalities also started criticizing the show and started demanding to ban it.
Seeing the matter escalating, the online platform removed the show
This show was being streamed on the Ullu app. But when the controversy over the content of the show deepened, the platform removed all its episodes. Due to bold and objectionable scenes, the OTT platform has also deleted it from its official website.
The whole matter gained further momentum when on May 2, the National Commission for Women (NCW) took a tough stand and issued summons to Ullu App CEO Vibhu Agarwal and actor Ejaz Khan. The commission has directed both of them to appear by May 9.
The summons accuses Ullu App of broadcasting obscene content. It further states that on April 29, a clip of the show 'House Arrest' went viral on social media, in which Ejaz Khan was pressuring the female contestants to pose objectionable in front of the camera. Some contestants were uncomfortable doing this task, but their displeasure was ignored.
The National Commission for Women says that such a show is against the dignity of women and is called sexual harassment in the name of entertainment. He said if the allegations made during the investigation are confirmed, it could become a serious criminal case under the Indian Justice Code, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
