GT Humiliate RCB at Chinnaswamy: Hand Kohli's Team First Defeat of IPL 2025

Bengaluru: First Mohammad Siraj's deadly bowling and then Jos Buttler's stormy fifty helped Gujarat Titans defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 wickets at its home. This is the second win of the Gujarat team in the 18th season, while RCB had to taste its first defeat after winning two consecutive matches. This match between Gujarat Titans and RCB was played at the M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. In the match, Gujarat captain Shubman Gill decided to bowl first after winning the toss.

After losing the toss, RCB somehow scored 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs with the help of Liam Livingstone and Jitesh's innings. In response, Gujarat's team, chasing the target, scored 170 runs with 13 balls to spare and won the match. In this way, RCB had to be embarrassed by losing in their own home.

Butler and Sai Sudarshan did wonders

Sai Sudarshan once again did wonders in batting for Gujarat. Sai Sudarshan started the innings with Shubman Gill and scored 49 runs in 36 balls. He missed his fifty by just 1 run. In this innings, Sudarshan also hit 7 fours and 1 six. At the same time, captain Shubman Gill was once again not effective in batting.

After Shubman's wicket, Jos Butler came to the field to bat. After spending some time on the crease, he also picked up his pace. After this, it was as if he wreaked havoc on the RCB bowlers. Butler batted in a stormy manner for Gujarat and remained unbeaten after scoring 73 runs in 39 balls. In his innings, he also hit 6 sixes and 5 fours. Along with him, Shefran Rutherford remained unbeaten after scoring 30 runs in 18 balls as an impact sub. Rutherford hit the winning shot for Gujarat.

    RCB bowlers flopped badly

RCB bowlers flopped badly in this match against Gujarat. Despite tight fielding, the RCB team was able to take only 2 wickets. From the team's side, both these wickets were taken by fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Apart from this, no other bowler was successful in taking wickets. However, Josh Hazlewood remained very expensive for the team despite taking wickets. At the same time, the team did not get any special contribution in spin bowling.

RCB's top order batting could not show strength

On the other hand, talking about batting, RCB's top order players flopped badly. Especially the condition of the batsmen was bad against Mohammad Siraj and Arshad Khan. Virat Kohli was out after scoring just 7 runs in 6 balls. Apart from this, Phil Salt also returned to the pavilion early. Rajat Patidar and Devdutt Padikkal also could not perform. However, Liam Livingstone took the lead for RCB and played an innings of 54 runs in 40 balls. Apart from this, Jitesh Sharma also scored 33 runs in 21 balls. In the end, Tim David played an innings of 30 runs in 18 balls, due to which RCB somehow managed to reach the score of 169 runs.

On the other hand, talking about bowling from Gujarat Titans, Mohammad Siraj showed his amazing performance. Siraj took three wickets for just 19 runs in 4 overs. Apart from this, R Sai Kishore took 2 wickets for 54 runs in 4 overs, while Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna and Ishant Sharma also took one wicket each.
