    Gujarat Titans Secure First Win, Mumbai Indians Face Consecutive Defeat in IPL 2025

    Gujarat Titans secured their first win of IPL 2025 by defeating Mumbai Indians, with 23-year-old Sai Sudharsan scoring a brilliant fifty. Surya’s valiant innings went in vain.

    Gujarat Titans Secure First Win, Mumbai Indians Face Consecutive Defeat in IPL 2025

    New Delhi. In IPL 2025, on Saturday, Mumbai Indians won the toss against Gujarat Titans (Mumbai India vs Gujarat Titans) and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Gujarat scored a total of 196 runs. With the second half-century of 23-year-old Sai Sudarshan, Gujarat Titans scored 196 runs for eight wickets against Mumbai Indians here in the Indian Premier League on Saturday. While chasing, Mumbai's team could score only 160 runs.


    Sai Sudarshan, who came to open, scored 63 runs in 41 balls with four fours and two sixes, besides making 78 runs for the first wicket with captain Shubman Gill (38). After this, Sudarshan took the team's score forward by sharing 51 runs for the second wicket with Jos Buttler (39). Apart from the top 3 batsmen, other Gujarat batsmen had to struggle to score runs and only Sherfane Rutherford (18) could reach double figures. Rahul Tewatia was run out without opening the account while Chahar broke the team's hopes of reaching 200 runs by getting Rutherford caught by Santner.


    Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets


    Captain Hardik Pandya was the most successful bowler for Mumbai, who took two wickets for 29 runs. Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Satyanarayan Raju got one wicket each. Former Titans captain Pandya gave the first blow to Gujarat team by getting Gill caught by Naman Dheer at deep backward square leg. Gill could hit four fours and a six in his 27-ball innings.


    Poor batting of Mumbai Indians


    Rohit Sharma, who came to open for Mumbai Indians, was out after scoring just 4 runs. His wicket was taken by Mohammed Siraj in the very first over. After this, Siraj also bowled Ryan Rickelton. Tilak Verma and Suryakumar Yadav made a partnership of 62 runs. But Tilak was out after scoring 39. After this, Surya could score 48 runs in 28 balls. Hardik Pandya also scored 11 runs in 17 balls but could not win the match. In this way, Mumbai team could score only 160 runs in 20 overs.


    Good bowling by Gujarat


    Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took 2-2 wickets each for Gujarat Titans. At the same time, Sai Kishore and Kagiso Rabada also took 1-1 wickets. This is Gujarat's first win in the tournament. Earlier, they had to face defeat against Punjab Kings.
