‘Haldi Ghati’ & ‘Tropex’ Key to Operation Sindoor's Success, Boosted Tri-Forces Coordination

New Delhi: The Indian Army has conducted many exercises for better coordination between the three armies. In this sequence, a war exercise called 'Haldi Ghati' was conducted in the month of April. Its purpose was that the three armies could coordinate with each other without any hindrance. During this time, the Indian Navy was conducting a big war exercise called 'Tropex' in the Arabian Sea. Almost all the big warships of the Navy participated in it. The war exercise called 'Haldi Ghati' lasted from 18 to 21 April. Its goal was that the three armies could easily talk to each other. They should not face any kind of problem.

After the attack in Pahalgam on April 22, the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) led by Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan implemented the lessons learned from the communication exercise. Defense sources told the news agency that officials conducted successful tests for uninterrupted communication between the three forces. The time before the attack on May 7 was used for better coordination in communication.

Helped in dealing with drone attacks

Before Operation Sindoor, joint air defense centers of the three armies were set up near the India-Pakistan border. Air defense systems and command and control systems were brought together in these centers. Having a common communication system and air defense network helped in dealing with the attacks carried out by Pakistani army drones on May 7, 8 and 9. Coordination in communication enabled the commanders sitting in Delhi to get accurate information about the battlefield.

    Pakistani Navy was badly forced

The 'Tropex' exercise helped the Indian Navy to make immediate deployment in the Arabian Sea. This forced the Pakistan Navy to keep its ships near the Makran coast. All the warships of the Indian Navy were deployed at forward locations and were ready for action.

Terrorist attack carried out in Pahalgam

Let us tell you that there was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, in which 26 tourists including a Nepali citizen were killed. In the initial investigation of this attack, the agencies found evidence of the involvement of Pakistani terrorists. After this, India carried out airstrikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan on 7 May, in which more than 100 terrorists were killed. India also released video footage of this attack.
