"Half of Bollywood is sold, half is scared": Prakash Raj lashes out at film industry

Veteran actor Prakash Raj is famous for his outspokenness. From social media to his interviews, he does not shy away from speaking against the policies of the government. Prakash is one of those select artists who have always been vocal about their political views. No matter how much trolling he has to face for this. Now in a new interview, the actor has fiercely cursed his colleagues from the Hindi film industry. Prakash Raj, who became famous in Bollywood with films like 'Wanted' and 'Singham', has bluntly lashed out at the stars of the Hindi film industry who remain silent on political issues. Prakash Raj said that half of them are sold out and half are those who are scared.

Prakash Raj also said that history forgets those who remain silent. Only those are remembered who raise their voice against injustice and do not shy away from speaking against wrong. Talking to 'The Lallantop', Prakash Raj stressed that even if the government uses all its power to suppress those who disagree with it, filmmakers should always be ready to make such cinema and fight for its release, which talks about ideas.

'Artists should have the strength to fight the government'

Prakash Raj said, 'Any powerful government will stop those who discuss. This should be within the artists. They should have a consciousness about what kind of films they make. They should be ready to fight to release the film.' About his colleagues in Bollywood, he said, 'Half of my own colleagues have sold out and half are scared because they don't have the strength.'

'History will forgive the criminals, not those who remain silent'

Prakash Raj, who mainly works in South cinema, said, 'I have a very close friend who told me that Prakash, you have the strength, you can speak, I cannot. I told him that I understand, but I cannot forgive him, because in the future when history will be written, it will forgive the criminals, but not those who remain silent. Everyone is responsible.'

Prakash Raj admitted that he doesn't get much work in Bollywood due to his outspokenness

However, Prakash Raj also admitted that his work has been affected due to his outspokenness on political issues. He accepted that because of this he is getting less work in Bollywood. He said, 'They are just worried that if they work with me in a film, they will not get what they expect. This is how the environment is. Saying this gives me more strength that whatever is happening is not right, so we have to fight, we have to raise our voice.'

Prakash Raj also spoke against banning 'Abir Gulaal'

When Prakash Raj was asked whether actors face difficulties on the work front due to speaking their views openly, do they not get work? On this he said, 'It is not that you will not get work, you get work and will get work, but not that much.' Prakash Raj also opposed the ban on 'Abir Gulaal' during this time. He said that the government should not ban any film. Rather it should be allowed to be released, the decision should be in the hands of the public whether they want to watch the film of Pakistani artists or not.

Prakash Raj will be seen with Thalapathy Vijay and Pawan Kalyan next

Talking about the work front, Prakash Raj's film 'Retro' was released last Thursday, May 1. Surya is in the lead role in it. Apart from this, he also has Thalapathy Vijay's 'Jana Nayakan' and Pawan Kalyan's 'They Call Him OG'.
