Hyderabad Police Restricts Holi Celebrations! BJP MLA Calls It a ‘Tughlaqi Decree’

Hyderabad: Hyderabad and Cyberabad police have imposed some restrictions in connection with Holi celebrations. Under this, movement of vehicles in groups and applying colors on people without their consent has been banned. This ban will be in force from 6 pm on March 13 to 6 am on March 15. BJP MLA Raja Singh expressed displeasure over this on Thursday. Criticizing the police notification, Goshamahal MLA Singh called it a Tughlaqi decree.

What restrictions did the police impose?

The police, in a notification, has banned the movement of two-wheelers and other vehicles in groups on roads and public places so that peace and order is not disturbed or inconvenience or danger is caused to the public. According to the notification, throwing colour or coloured water on unwilling persons, places and vehicles or applying colour on unwilling persons on roads and public places and causing trouble to them is also prohibited. This government order will be in effect from 6 pm on March 13 to 6 am on March 15.

The police issued a separate notification directing the closure of liquor/toddy shops and bars attached to restaurants (except bars of star hotels and registered clubs) from 6 am to 6 pm on March 14. Raja Singh claimed that the police issued the notification on the instructions of the Congress government. He said, "I want to ask the Chief Minister and police officials. How do people move around on motorcycles and in groups at night during the 30 days of Ramzan? Is this not visible to Telangana's ninth Nizam Revanth Reddy and police officials?" How much disturbance happens in Hyderabad during these 30 days?

    Revanth Reddy behaving like Nizam

The MLA asked if he had no idea of issuing a 'farman' against those doing this? He alleged that the Congress is a 'slave' of a particular community and is anti-Hindu. Singh said that Revanth Reddy is behaving like the 'ninth Nizam', as his predecessor K Chandrasekhar Rao was the 'eighth Nizam'. He alleged that the Nizam used to harass Hindus during his rule. The MLA said that Revanth Reddy is behaving like a Nizam.

Sarcasm on Congress He said that the Congress government could have issued a different kind of notification, appealing to Muslims to cooperate with Hindu brothers by not coming out of their homes for a day during Holi. The BJP MLA said that but the government chose to take action against Hindus by imposing restrictions. He called upon the Chief Minister to change such a policy. (Input agency)
