IND vs ENG 2nd ODI: Virat Kohli out cheaply, DRS - Question on form before Champions Trophy?

Barabati Stadium, Cuttack: In the second ODI being played between India and England, the Indian team suffered a major setback when star batsman Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion after scoring just 5 runs. England's experienced spinner Adil Rashid got him caught out by wicketkeeper Phil Salt.

However, Kohli's wicket was also in controversy. The umpire had turned down Rashid's appeal, but England took the DRS (Decision Review System). The replay showed that the ball had taken a slight edge, after which the third umpire declared him out. After this decision, the England players celebrated, while Indian fans were deeply shocked.

Is Virat Kohli's form a matter of concern before the Champions Trophy?

The Champions Trophy 2025 is not far away now, and fans and the team have great expectations from a great batsman like Virat Kohli. However, his lack of big innings in recent matches has raised questions.

Virat Kohli has been one of the most reliable batsmen in the Indian ODI team, but he has not been in his classic rhythm in this series so far.

His struggle against spin bowlers seems to be increasing, and England's Rashid once again exposed his weakness.

If India has to be a strong contender in the Champions Trophy, then Kohli will have to bring back his old rhythm.

How did Virat Kohli's wicket fall?

    • Bowler: Adil Rashid

    • Catch: Phil Salt (wicketkeeper)

    • Kohli's score: 5 runs (in 10 balls)

    • Decision: On-field umpire gave not out, but declared out after DRS

    Kohli needed for India's victory

Although Virat Kohli got out early in this match, the Indian team will now need match-winning innings from him in the upcoming big tournaments. Kohli's experience and his skill of playing in big matches are the most important weapons for India.

Kohli played a key role in India winning the 2013 Champions Trophy, and the team will hope that he will bring the title to the team in 2025 with his brilliant game.

If India has to defeat strong teams like England, then it is very important for Virat Kohli to bat.

Fans hope that he will soon return to his best form and will once again be seen as "King Kohli" in the Champions Trophy.

    Latest status of the match

England, batting first, has set a target of 305 runs in front of India. The Indian team had a great start, but England has made a comeback with the dismissal of Virat Kohli.

On which players does India have its hopes now?

    • Rohit Sharma: The captain has now got additional responsibility.

    • Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul: Will work to give stability to the middle order.

Now it remains to be seen how India recovers from this setback and whether the team is able to chase the target or not. Will England be able to put pressure on India by taking Kohli's wicket? Or will the Indian team overcome this challenge and move towards victory?

But one thing is for sure - expectations from Virat Kohli never end! Fans may soon get to see a big innings from his bat before the Champions Trophy! 🚀🔥
