IND vs ENG ODI: Most sixes... Chris Gayle's record broken by Rohit Sharma's storm

New Delhi. Rohit Sharma has relieved the tension of the Indian cricket team and fans by raining sixes in the Cuttack ODI. Hitman showed that he is fully prepared for the Champions Trophy by hitting sixes in the second and third overs against England. Rohit Sharma has also left Chris Gayle behind in terms of hitting the most sixes.

Rohit Sharma made a fast start against England. He hit 3 sixes within the first 5 overs. After the end of the fifth over, India's score was 39/0. Out of these, 27 runs came from Rohit's bat. Rohit scored these runs in just 16 balls, which included 3 sixes and a four.

Before the second ODI match played between India and England in Cuttack, Rohit Sharma had 331 sixes in this format. He was at par with Chris Gayle in terms of most sixes. As soon as Rohit came to bat, these figures changed. The Indian captain took his number of sixes to 334 after just half an hour of batting. Now there is only one cricketer in the world who has hit more sixes than Rohit Sharma in ODI matches. This cricketer is none other than Shahid Afridi of Pakistan. Afridi has hit 351 sixes in ODI matches.

There are 4 Indians in the top 10 in this list of hitting the most sixes. MS Dhoni is at number five on this list with 229 sixes. Sachin Tendulkar (195) is at number nine in this list and Sourav Ganguly (190) is at number ten.

The record of hitting most sixes in all three formats is already in the name of Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma has hit 624 sixes in 492 international matches. Chris Gayle is second with 553 sixes while Shahid Afridi (476) is third.
