India-Pakistan Ceasefire Agreed—Jaishankar Warns: No Compromise on Terror

New Delhi: A big news has come out amid tension between India and Pakistan. Both countries have agreed on a ceasefire with immediate effect. But this agreement has been made on India's terms, and India has made it clear that its stand against terrorism is still as tough and firm. India's Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has warned Pakistan in clear words that India will give a befitting reply to every form of terror.

Jaishankar said - no compromise against terror

Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar wrote on his official Twitter handle, 'India and Pakistan have agreed today to stop firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and unwavering stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. India will continue to do so.'

Jaishankar's statement made it clear that India has accepted this ceasefire on its own terms, and is in no mood to give any leniency to Pakistan. If sources are to be believed, India had put a condition for the ceasefire that Pakistan should curb the terrorist activities being conducted from its land, otherwise India would be free to retaliate.

Pakistan's statement: Talk of peace, but how much trust?

On the other hand, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also confirmed this agreement by tweeting. He wrote, "Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region without compromising its sovereignty and territorial integrity."

However, this peace song of Pakistan is nothing new for India. In the past too, Pakistan talked about peace, but did not stop promoting terrorist activities from its land. India has repeatedly said that there is a huge difference between Pakistan's words and actions.

India's diplomatic victory, Pakistan on the backfoot

This ceasefire is being seen as India's diplomatic victory. India not only achieved this agreement on its own terms, but has also succeeded in cornering Pakistan on the issue of terrorism on the global platform. It is clear from Jaishankar's statement that India is in no mood to show any leniency. India has also made it clear that if Pakistan again does any nefarious act, then India is fully prepared to respond to it.

After the ceasefire, now everyone's eyes are on whether Pakistan will really stop terrorist activities from its land, or is this once again its fake peace strategy. India has made it clear that it is ready for every situation. This statement of Jaishankar is a message not only for Pakistan, but also for all those countries that try to shelter terrorism. For now, this diplomatic victory and tough stand of India not only raises hopes for peace on the border but also shows that India will no longer compromise on its security and sovereignty at any cost.
