New Delhi: The Indian government completely rejected US President Donald Trump's statement related to mediation on Kashmir and said that this is a bilateral issue and there can be no role of a third party in it. Foreign Ministry Randhir Jaiswal said in a press conference that it has been our national position for a long time that any issue related to the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has to be resolved bilaterally by India and Pakistan. There has been no change in this policy. The pending matter is only to vacate the area illegally occupied by Pakistan.
India's action proved costly, Pakistani DGMO called
Regarding the ceasefire, Jaiswal said that the date, time and terminology agreed between the two countries was decided during a phone call between the two DGMOs on May 10 at 15.35. The Indian Foreign Ministry received a request from the Pakistani High Commission at 12.37 pm for this telephone call. The Pakistani side faced difficulty in contacting through the hotline due to technical reasons. After this, the timing of this phone call was decided on the basis of the availability of the Indian DGMO. Jaiswal further said that on the same day i.e. on May 10 morning, India was successful in creating effective pressure after the action on the Pakistani Air Force base under Operation Sindoor. After this, the Pakistani side seemed willing to stop firing and military action. This is the effect of India's military strength that forced Pakistan to stop firing.
Jaiswal said that as far as talks with other countries are concerned, the message from India was clear, the same message was given in private talks with other countries along with public platforms that India was responding in response to the Pahalgam attack on April 22, in which terrorist infrastructure was targeted. It was also told that if the Pakistani army fires, the Indian army will also fire in retaliation. If Pakistan stops, we will also stop. Jaiswal said that Pakistan was told the same thing during Operation Sindoor, it is natural that foreign leaders would have put our same message in front of Pakistani negotiators on this matter.
Responding to the statement of Pakistani Foreign Minister in the media, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that due to Operation Sindoor last week, Pakistan has seen the destruction of its terrorist bases in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Muzaffarabad. Due to this, the military capabilities of Pakistan were exposed in front of everyone. We had rendered their main airbases useless. If the Pakistani Foreign Minister wants to call it his achievement, he is free to do so. Jaiswal said that our stand was always clear that we will target terrorist hideouts, so if the Pakistani army stayed out of this issue, there would have been no problem. Till the night of May 9, Pakistan was threatening India with a big attack, when their efforts failed, seeing India's strong counter response on the morning of 10, their tone changed and DGMO contacted us.
Jaiswal said that India's response was always the same, but on May 10, Pakistan's position changed because we had caused so much damage to their airbase that they became ineffective. In such a situation, the world needs to see who called whom to stop the firing. Regarding Ishaq Dar's statements, he also said that Pakistan keeps beating the drum after losing, they had always done the same in the past.
Conventional military operation - President Trump had said that he had stopped the nuclear war between the two countries. Regarding this, Jaiswal said that the military action was completely in the traditional domain. Earlier there were reports that Pakistan's National Command Authority would hold a meeting on May 10, but it was later denied by them. Pakistan's Foreign Minister himself has rejected the nuclear angle. India will not fall for any kind of nuclear blackmailing and will not tolerate terrorism. In our talks with other countries, we have told that such a step can have fatal consequences.
No talk on trade with America - President Trump had said that during the talks to reduce tensions with both the countries, trade was also mentioned. Which also led to a lot of political controversy in India. On this issue, the Ministry of External Affairs clearly said that nothing like this has happened. Jaiswal said that on May 7, there was a discussion between the US leaders and Indian leaders from Operation Sindoor to the agreement of both the countries to stop firing. But there was no mention of trade in it.
Indus Water Treaty will remain suspended
Regarding the Indus Water Treaty, Jaiswal said that the Indus Water Treaty will remain suspended for now. Jaiswal said that it is true that this treaty was concluded on the basis of goodwill and friendship but Pakistan shattered these principles through cross border terrorism for decades and now it will remain suspended till then Until Pakistan stops supporting cross-border terrorism, it is worth noting that new realities like climate change, demographic change have changed the ground realities.
Everyone understood our point in the fight against terror
In response to the question whether US President Donald Trump has put India and Pakistan on the same level in his attitude, Jaiswal said that countries around the world have come to understand that innocent Indian tourists were victims of Pakistani attack in the Pahalgam terror attack. In his talks with the Indian leadership, leaders around the world not only accepted India's principle of self-defense, but Jaiswal also mentioned the statement of the UN Security Council on this issue on April 25, which mentioned bringing the perpetrators of terrorism to justice.
Will give more information to the UN about TRF
Jaiswal said that India is trying to get TRF listed in the UNSC 1267 Sanctions Committee of the United Nations. In response to a question, Jaiswal said that everyone must have seen how TRF had taken responsibility twice after the Pahalgam attack, but later they backtracked on the instructions of their handlers. Jaiswal said that TRF is a front of Lashkar-e-Taiba. India is trying to get it included in the banned organization in the UN. In response to another question related to this, Jaiswal said that for the last two years we have been sharing information about it with the UN. Along with this, more information will be shared with them in the coming days. He said that he hopes that the 1267 monitoring team of the Security Council will take strict action on our information.
See from satellite images who has suffered how much loss - Rejecting the claims being made by Pakistan, Jaiswal said that satellite pictures are available in today's era. I appeal to everyone to see the pictures of those sites about which Pakistan claims that they have carried out attacks there. Along with this, look at the places which we have successfully targeted and destroyed. This will give everyone the right answer. Jaiswal said that claiming victory is an old habit of Pakistan. They had played the same tune in 1965, 1971, 1999 Kargil too. Pakistan has an old attitude of beating the drum. Get defeated but beat the drum. On a question related to the use of American Egyptian aircraft, Jaiswal said that we have also seen such social media posts. They have to answer these questions.
Turkey and China's activities have been noted - Responding to the Indian government's reaction after Pakistan received help from China and Turkey, Jaiswal said that India has noted these activities.
India and Pakistan are not on the same level - In response to the question whether Trump tried to weigh India and Pakistan on the same scale, Jaiswal said that it is not so, people believed that Pakistan is a country that promotes terrorism. Creates terrorism on an industrial scale. There was condemnation all over the world on the issue of terrorism, people accepted that we have the right to self-defense.
