₹2,500 Crore Education Mega-Deal: Drishti IAS Founder Vikas Divyakirti Set to Sell UPSC Coaching Empire

Vikas Divyakirti Coaching Drishti IAS Deal: Drishti IAS, one of the most prestigious institutes preparing for UPSC across the country, is going to be sold soon. Dr. Vikas Divyakirti, the founder of the coaching center, is planning to sell it for Rs 2500 crore. If this deal is completed, it will be one of the biggest acquisition deals in the history of the Indian education industry.

    PhysicsWallah is showing interest

According to a recent report released by Intracker, PhysicsWallah, a fast-growing company in the edtech sector, is showing interest in this deal. It is being said that the talks between the two companies are currently in the initial stage, but if this deal is finalized, then PhysicsWallah's dominance in the education sector can be strengthened.

    Preparations to launch IPO

PhysicsWallah is also preparing for its $500 million (about Rs 4,300 crore) IPO. It is believed that after this IPO, the company can proceed with the acquisition of Drishti IAS. This acquisition will help PW to strengthen its hold in the UPSC coaching sector.

    Success story of Drishti IAS

Dr. Vikas Divyakirti founded Drishti IAS in 1999. The institute is known for preparing for the Civil Services Examination (CSE). The platform recorded a revenue of Rs 405 crore and a profit of Rs 90 crore in FY24. The Mukherjee Nagar center in Delhi earned 58% of the company's total revenue, while other centers are located in Prayagraj, Jaipur and Karol Bagh.

    PhysicsWallah's growth is also great

At the same time, PhysicsWallah recorded a revenue of Rs 1,940.4 crore in the financial year 2024, which is said to be 160 percent more than last year. However, due to the increasing expenses of the company, the loss also increased to Rs 1,131 crore.

What does the CEO of Drishti IAS say?

Drishti IAS CEO Vivek Tiwari dismissed these reports and said, "We are in talks with various institutions and investors, but no final decision has been taken yet."

Will Divyakirti leave the education sector?

Many questions are being raised about the possible sale of Drishti IAS. The biggest question is whether Dr. Vikas Divyakirti will now completely exit the education sector? Some reports claim that he may move towards a new venture after separating from the coaching industry. However, there has been no official statement from Divyakirti in this regard yet.
