IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians Lose Vignesh Puthur to Injury, Punjab Pacer Joins Squad

Mumbai Indians have suffered a major setback in IPL 2025. Vignesh Puthur is out of the remaining season due to injury. Mumbai Indians team management has included a Punjab bowler in the squad as an alternative to Vignesh Puthur. Mumbai Indians will play their next match against Rajasthan Royals. Vignesh played 5 matches in the current season and took 6 wickets.


New Delhi. Mumbai Indians have suffered a major setback during IPL 2025. Young bowler Vignesh Puthur is out of the remaining season due to injury. Mumbai Indians team management added Raghu Sharma of Punjab to the squad as an alternative to Vignesh.


31-year-old leg spinner Raghu Sharma represented Punjab and Puducherry in domestic cricket. Raghu's first class record is impressive. He took 57 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 19.59. His best bowling performance is taking seven wickets for 56 runs.


Raghu took 14 wickets in 9 List A matches and took three wickets in three T20 matches. This will be Raghu Sharma's first chance in IPL. He joined Mumbai Indians at his base price of Rs 30 lakh.


Vignesh left an impression


Vignesh Puthur had just left his mark in the tournament when he got injured. Vignesh made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians against Chennai Super Kings. He impressed by taking three wickets in the very first match. Vignesh played 5 matches in the current season, taking a total of 6 wickets. Vignesh will remain with the team


Vignesh Puthur may be out of the current season, but he will remain with the team and focus on his recovery. His recovery will be monitored by the Medical and Strength and Conditioning team of Mumbai Indians. The franchise expressed support for 22-year-old Vignesh to begin his rehab process.
