IPL 2025 Playoff Race: 3 Teams Qualified, 3 Still in Fierce Battle for Final Spot

New Delhi: In the high-voltage match of IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by 10 wickets. Batting first in this match, Delhi team gave Gujarat a target of 200 runs on the basis of KL Rahul's century. In response, Gujarat team defeated Delhi in 19 overs without losing any wicket. Sai Sudarshan scored a brilliant century for Gujarat and Shubman Gill played an unbeaten innings of 93 runs. With this win, three teams of IPL 2025 playoffs have been confirmed.

    Three teams booked playoff tickets

On Sunday, Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals to become the first team to make it to the IPL 2025 playoffs. With this win, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings have also confirmed their place in the top 4. These three teams are also in the race to make it to the top 2. Being in the top 2 will give two chances to reach the final.

    These teams have fun

Gujarat has qualified first for the playoffs of IPL 2025 by defeating Delhi. Now they have 2 matches left. Gujarat can reach a maximum of 22 points. Shubman Gill's team is a strong contender to be in the top 2 after the group stage. Gujarat's win over Delhi means that RCB have also reached the playoffs. If they win their remaining two matches, they can reach a maximum of 21 points. If Gujarat loses one match, RCB can make it to the top 2.

    Punjab team in the playoffs

Punjab Kings have also qualified for the playoffs. If they win their next two matches, Shreyas Iyer's side can make it to the top 2 if either RCB or Gujarat lose a match. Mumbai Indians need to win both their remaining matches to make it to the top 4. Two wins will take them to 18 points. Their strong net run rate can prove to be very important for them.

What does Delhi have to do now?

Delhi's loss against Gujarat means they need to win both their remaining matches. However, that will only take them to 17 points. Their qualification will depend on net run rate and other results. Lucknow Super Giants have the toughest task of qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs. They need to win all their remaining three matches and hope other results go in their favour. Three wins will take Lucknow to 16 points and that will of course depend on net run rate.
