IPL 2025 Shock: Kagiso Rabada Abruptly Leaves Gujarat Titans, Returns to South Africa

New Delhi: Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has left the Gujarat Titans team in IPL 2025 and returned to South Africa. He has gone back due to personal reasons. The franchise said in a statement that Rabada has gone to 'settle an important personal matter'. The team has not given the date of his return. Rabada played the first two matches of Gujarat. In the match against Punjab Kings, he took 1 wicket for 41 runs. In the match against Mumbai Indians, he took 1 wicket for 42 runs and the team won.

Rabada did not play against RCB

Gujarat Titans' third match was against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rabada was not part of the playing eleven in that match. Captain Shubman Gill had told at the time of toss that Rabada is not playing due to personal reasons. All-rounder Arshad Khan was included in the team in place of Rabada. Arshad dismissed Virat Kohli. In this match, Gujarat's team came with only three foreign players.

    No information on return

No information has been given about when Kagiso Rabada will return. He is the main fast bowler of the team and his absence is a big blow for Gujarat. The team has Gerald Coetzee of South Africa but it remains to be seen whether he gets a chance or not. Gujarat's team lost to Punjab in their first match. But then after defeating Mumbai Indians and RCB, the team has reached the fourth position in the table.

Gujarat's team has two main fast bowlers of the Indian team, Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. Both are bowling in rhythm. Apart from this, Ishant Sharma, Gurnur Brar and Kulwant Khejroliya are also in the team. Gujarat has to play its next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 6 April.
