    KKR Crushes RR! Defending Champions Secure First IPL 2025 Win in Style

    Guwahati: With Quinton de Kock's strong half-century innings, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets in the sixth match of Indian Premier League 2025. In the match, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first after winning the toss. Batting first, Rajasthan team scored 151 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, KKR won the match by achieving the target in just 17.3 overs. For KKR, Quinton de Kock played an unbeaten innings of 97 runs in 61 balls. In his innings, he also hit 8 fours and 6 sixes.


    This match between KKR and Rajasthan was played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. This is also Rajasthan's home ground. However, Rajasthan's luck did not shine even on its home ground and it has suffered two back to back defeats this season. On the other hand, KKR's team has made a strong comeback with this win after losing the opening match against RCB.


    Slow pitch made batting difficult for both teams


    Batting was very difficult for both KKR and Rajasthan on this ground in Guwahati. In the first innings, where KKR's bowlers played a strong game and made Rajasthan yearn to score every run. On the other hand, scoring runs was not at all easy for KKR in the second innings. However, the KKR batsmen showed patience at the crease, which helped them comfortably achieve the target of 152 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga was the only bowler from Rajasthan who got success. Hasaranga got captain Ajinkya Rahane out LBW. At the same time, Moeen Ali was run out.


    Rajasthan had a bad start in batting


    Kolkata Knight Riders, thanks to the strong performance of their bowlers, restricted Rajasthan Royals to 151 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs in the IPL match on Wednesday. For Kolkata, Vaibhav Aruna, Harshit Rana, Moeen Ali and Varun Chakraborty took two wickets each while Spencer Johnson took one wicket. He did not give any chance to the Rajasthan batsmen to play freely.


    For Rajasthan, Dhruv Jurel scored the highest 33 runs with the help of five fours in 28 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 29 runs in 24 balls hitting two fours and two sixes while captain Riyan Parag scored 25 runs in 15 balls hitting three sixes. Jofra Archer scored 16 runs in seven balls hitting two sixes in the lower order and took Rajasthan past 150.
