Leeds: Star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant may not have performed well in IPL 2025, but he once again proved that Test cricket is his real game. Pant has become only the second wicketkeeper in history to score two centuries in a Test match. In the second innings of the Headingley Test against England, the left-handed batsman scored 118 runs in 140 balls with the help of 15 fours and 3 sixes. Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka congratulated Pant on becoming the second wicketkeeper after Zimbabwe's Andy Flower to score a century in both innings of a Test match.
Rishabh Pant's brilliant batting
Rishabh Pant was slow in the beginning in the second innings of the Headingley Test. But as soon as the second session started, the 27-year-old Pant started scoring runs rapidly. He scored heavily against Brydon Carse, Ben Stokes, Josh Tongue and Shoaib Bashir. Pant completed his century by taking a single off Shoaib Bashir's ball. Earlier, Pant had scored 134 runs in the first innings.
Goenka made a long tweet
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka wrote on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), 'Awesome! Two consecutive centuries from Rishabh Pant. Aggressive, audacious, brilliant. Only the second wicketkeeper in history to score a century in both innings of a Test.'
Two good! Back-to-back centuries for @RishabhPant17. Aggressive, audacious, brilliant. Only the second wicketkeeper in history to score a century in both innings of a Test. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Goenka also congratulated KL Rahul for his ninth Test century. Right-handed batsman Rahul scored 137 runs in 247 balls. With his innings, India was successful in giving England a target of more than 370 runs. Rahul and Rishabh Pant also shared a 195-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Goenka further wrote, 'Congratulations to KL Rahul for his century as well.'
Rahul was the captain of Lucknow
KL Rahul was previously the captain of Lucknow Super Giants. However, the team released him ahead of the IPL 2025 season. During a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Goenka was seen publicly reprimanding Rahul after the team's ten-wicket defeat. An exciting fifth day is left in the Headingley Test. England still need 350 runs to win.
