LoC Echoes with Gunfire After Pahalgam Attack, Tension Peaks Between India and Pakistan

Srinagar/New Delhi: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the tension is at its peak on the Line of Control (LOC) and the Indian Army is fully prepared to deal with any situation and carry out any operation. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, after returning from Kashmir tour, informed Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the current situation in the valley and the LOC and the preparations of the army. Meanwhile, the way statements are coming from Pakistan and terrorist organizations, it is clear that Pakistan is under a lot of pressure and it is trying to bring the international community into the picture.

Firing continued intermittently for two nights

On Thursday night and then again on Friday night, intermittent firing continued at many places on the LoC. Unprovoked firing was done by Pakistan and the Indian Army also gave a befitting reply to it. However, only small arms are being used from both sides and there has been no firing of big weapons. According to intelligence agency sources, the launch pads of terrorists on the other side of the LoC are now empty and the terrorists who were in them have been shifted to the training camps of terrorists behind. Training camps are located deeper inside while the launch pads are near the LoC. The launch pads of terrorists across the LoC are not any separate infrastructure, rather the terrorists use the houses around the posts of Pakistan Army near the LoC for themselves, and the houses they use have been identified as launch pads. When terrorists try to infiltrate from the LoC, they stop at these launch pads and then move forward and many times the Pakistani Army gives them cover fire during their infiltration attempt so that they can infiltrate.

Attempts to bring the international community into the picture

Pakistan is trying to bring the international community into the picture. Many countries around the world have condemned the terrorist attack on Pahalgam. The UN Security Council has also issued a statement condemning the Pahalgam attack. The statement also said that the attackers, those who helped them, those who provided financial assistance to them and their supporters need to be held responsible and brought to justice. The members of the Security Council said that all terrorist acts committed by any person, for any purpose, place, time or by any person are criminal and unjustifiable. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, speaking at the Pakistan Military Academy in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, said that continuing its role as a responsible country, Pakistan is ready to participate in any neutral, transparent and credible investigation. However, if we look at the terrorist attacks that have happened before, Pakistan has been saying this every time. Pakistan had said the same thing after the terrorist attack in Mumbai and then in Pulwama.

Lashkar's shadow organization said we did not attack

TRF (shadow organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba), which took responsibility for the Pahalgam attack, has now said that 'we have no hand in the attack. Our digital platform was hacked and a message taking responsibility for the attack was posted'. Indian security agencies believe that after the pressure from India increased, the terrorist organization has now issued this statement under the pressure of Pakistan's ISI. TRF is the shadow organization of Lashkar. In the year 2023, the Government of India declared the shadow organizations of terrorists as terrorist organizations under UAPA. This included The Resistance Front i.e. TRF, People's Anti Fascist Front (PAFF), Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) and Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF). While banning them, the Home Ministry had written that TRF is a shadow organization of Lashkar which became active in the year 2019. It is involved in attacks on security forces in Kashmir, targeting innocent civilians, providing weapons to banned terrorist organizations, recruiting terrorists, smuggling drugs and weapons across the LOC.
