The All India Imam Association president said branding the situation as genocide is misleading, even as reports of violence against Hindu minorities continue to emerge from Bangladesh.

Maulana Rashidi rejects genocide claims against Hindus amid Bangladesh unrest

New Delhi: Continuous violence is being witnessed against minority Hindus in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh's Rajbari district, a mob beat a 29-year-old Hindu man to death. The victim has been identified as Amrit Mandal alias Samrat. Earlier, Dipu Chandra Das was also killed by a mob, and his body was hung from a tree and burned. On the other hand, Maulana Sajid Rashidi, President of the All India Imam Association in India, is striking a different note. Rashidi believes that the violence in Bangladesh is not directed against Hindus. According to Rashidi, the protests are an expression of people's anger against the Yunus government. Why do you want to portray it as being against Hindus?

    What is Maulana Rashidi saying?

The murders that are happening are wrong. There is no doubt about that. Islam does not advocate killing anyone. But those who are calling it genocide, where is the genocide, tell me? You are not ready to call what is happening in Gaza a genocide. 40,000 children have been killed in Palestine, and 150,000 people have been murdered, but you are not ready to call that a genocide.

Rashidi said that Bangladesh has the Yunus government, which is a weak government, and they call this a genocide because those people are Hindus. He said that in India, NCRB data shows that 52 people were killed in mob lynchings while chanting "Jai Shri Ram," but you won't call that a genocide. He said that you won't call the killing of 50 people a genocide. Why this double standard? Why this double standard?

Hindus targeted in Bangladesh: Former Governor

The situation is that democracy has ended in Bangladesh. Former Governor of Rajasthan, Kalraj Mishra, says that Hindus are being continuously killed in Bangladesh. Anti-social elements are targeting and setting fire to the homes of Hindus, and Hindu daughters and women are being mistreated. According to Kalraj Mishra, the religious sentiments of Hindus are also being violated. Hindu temples are being demolished in Bangladesh. Shops are being looted. Emerging Hindu leaders in Bangladesh are being murdered.
